Field: Science & Technology

Key Assets:

  • Conceptualization
  • Logo
  • Generative Microchip & Device Prototyping

Qmantis is a pioneering tech company that has introduced a breakthrough in image sensor technology. Their innovative graphene/quantum dot image sensor platform allows seamless operation across a broad spectrum, extending from the visible to the short-wave infrared (SWIR) range. What sets this technology apart is its compatibility with current CMOS manufacturing processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness and high manufacturability.

Beyond the technical details, the company’s mission is driven by a fundamental truth: “Nature itself hides a vast amount of information beyond what is visible.” This profound insight guides their vision to harness and efficiently process hidden phenomena. The implications of this technology are far-reaching, with potential applications in the fields of health, security, and decision-making. It signifies the emergence of a new era where previously concealed data becomes a powerful tool for improving our lives and society as a whole.

The company approached us with a highly concise and specific brief: to design a logo that could be applied to their sensors, devices, and packaging. Given the urgency and priority of this request, we proceeded to create a logo that incorporated a symbol consisting of fine lines, suitable for implementation on extremely small surfaces.

Qmantis, a company at the cutting edge of technology, combines quantum dots with graphene (both of which are extraordinary 2D materials). It was crucial that the logo visually expressed this union. To achieve this, we integrated a geometric Q with six angles, representing the quantum aspect, with the hexagonal pattern of graphene, which is formed by the carbon atoms comprising it.

One technical consideration to bare in mind is that designing a logo for small-scale applications required meticulous attention to detail. The lines and angles in the logo symbol needed to be precise and fine to maintain clarity and legibility, even on the smallest surfaces. We utilized vector graphics and carefully adjusted stroke widths to ensure the logo’s scalability while preserving its integrity.

For the complete development of the logo (and eventually the brand as a second phase), we chose the font Gellix. It embodies the perfect balance of simplicity and modernity, mirroring the company’s innovative spirit. This typeface complements the logo’s geometric elements and will ensure a cohesive and contemporary brand identity.
